At the last day of my Residency the T-Air team organized a big farewell party. Almost everyone who supported the project came and it was a very funny yet emotional evening.
After six exciting weeks in Urahoro I finally finished my installation. There was an opening event for two days and a lot of people came to see the result of the residency.

You can see the Japanese daikon radish now everywhere in front of the houses. They will probably make tsukemono out of it, Japanese pickled vegetables.
Finally I started to work on my installation. The time schedule is very tough but I will give my very best..
It’s the best time now to see the autumn leaves in Urahoro. I love the Japanese maple trees with the tiny leaves. They are so kawaii!
I was invited to a cooking workshop with kids from Urahoro. I came too late to help cooking, but it was just in time to try the delicious food:)

Had to take the opportunity of the great weather today and made a walking tour on the hills of Urahoro. I’m glad I didn’t meet the Hokkaido bear..
Been to a lumberjack company and a carpenter in Urahoro today. Could be very useful for constructing my installation. Thanks to Ochiai-san and Yanagida-san for showing me everything!
Can you believe it! The first pottery ever made by human being stands in an inconspicuous corner of a museum in Obihiro.
First time I was invited to a traditional tea ceremony. That was a great experience. Though my knees are still aching;)
Mr. Kanoshita has a very interesting factory for making pellets out of pine trees. They also deliver the Rushin onsen near Urahoro with pellets. Thank you for showing me your factory. Totemo omoshirokatta… Weiterlesen

A Taifun near Urahoro brought the first snow and made me stay at home for the whole day..

Had lunch with Kayou-san, Kanazawa-san and Ogawa-san in a very good traditional restaurant in Obihiro. The owner is a very good friend of Mr. Ogawa. It was very delicious!
Kanazawa-san brought me from Obihiro to Urahoro. there we had dinner together with my new host Akira-san and Tomoko-san.
My first breakfast at Kayou-san’s place, thanks for that! Spaghetti with organic tomato jam and salad with ham. what a good start in the day:)
